About Blue On Blue
Blue On Blue was first active from 2003 to 2010 where Niels Tudor-Vinther left Denmark and went to Brussels. The band reunited in November 2019 as a far distance band with Anders and Thomas in Denmark and Niels in Germany.
The band thrives for the good song. The music is balanced between the silently beautiful and the aggressively cool. The style was never really close to the sound of any other band and can best be described as something between R.E.M, Sonic Youth, Placebo, Bob Mould, Hüsker Dü, Grant Lee Buffalo, Swell...the list can continued, but the description will never capture the feeling. You just have to listen.
With Niels Vinther insisting on only playing a western guitar, the band had a very special sound for the hard-rocking distortion parts of their songs. The conventions never held down Anders Rathmann and Thomas Olsson in their interpretation of rock à la Blue On Blue.
After reuniting the sound has taken a much more varied expression and the band is playfully digging into the laptop-studio possibilities in their creative song development. All-in-all the band is contributing with strong music with its very own face and particularities.
